Concentrate on your Goals
If you know you need to do something and somehow you seem to be avoiding it, then one way to help get things done is to focus on the goal, the beneficial outcome of the actions. The same approach can be taken if you want to stop doing something.
Whether you want to start or stop doing something, pause and think: what are you seeking to achieve? What is the outcome you seek? What benefits are there in it for you?
Focus on the positive value that you will gain. See how desirable this will be. Then look at what you have to do to get it, and how small this is in comparison. Then do what you know you should do, always keeping the end in mind. Ex. A student knows they should study more but are having too good a time. After a very poor mark for an essay, they think about what it is all for and re frame their time at college as being about getting a good job when they finish. They henceforth start doing things that will support this goal, working on committees, getting jobs, and studying hard. They end up with a good qualification and a strong resume.
Goals are the things we seek and desire in life. They often are derived from what we think is possible and what we see others getting. At a more fundamental level, we set goals in order to meet deep needs. We often set goals based on our understanding of the world as reflected by the Models we use.
Make Good Habits
Staying mentally and physically healthy has never been more important than it is now. While we love being lazy, we also need to make sure we take care of our minds and bodies. So, no more excuses — our health journey starts now
- Maintain a healthy weight
- Stay physically active
- Eat fruits and vegetables
- Do not smoke
- Limit alcohol consumption
Just stop wasting time on chats, etc
You will understand that staying informed is possible without investing countless valuable hours of your time day in and day out.
When we are younger, we used to spend hours just chatting on Gmail, Skype, Yahoo, MSN, Twitter chats with friends. We could only do it at home because at the time of university some lab sections have banned the access to all the chatting software and social networking sites. That’s why the students are much more productive and focused- but my friends must admit, we were stressed too due to the job nature.
Make urself Busy and Productive
That is one great way to find independence and learn to be your own person. It’s also a great way to get over a breakup, loss of a loved one, or hard time in general. Being productive will keep you focused, positive and ultimately, happy. Continue reading for some ways to keep yourself busy.
Think Positive and Success is Yours
How many times have you heard that phrase thrown around? It’s so much a part of our vernacular now that it’s almost become meaningless. We’d all agree that thinking positively is a good thing. Especially when we’re feeling positive. When you’re feeling good, how much trouble is it to think, “Hey, I like me. My life is cool. Things are going great.”
But what about when things are crappy? What about those days when you’re so stressed the veins pop out of your forehead? When you hate your job — or you’ve lost it? What about those days when you are sucker-punched by a series of unfortunate events that makes the life of Job look like a garden party?
I’ve met people who remain perky during really bad times. And to be honest, they make me want to slap them around a bit. That Pollyanna, “life is still beautiful” attitude when things are falling apart just yanks my chain. However, I’ve come to learn that these people know something I don’t.
